Hey all, its been awhile since I sat down and took the time to do a proper entry so I am making the time now… Just had to check what my last post was. Its been about 9 days since I wrote anything substantial here – no wonder I couldn’t remember.

Anyway, I said I’d tell y’all about my long weekend just gone. Well it was the Queen’s Birthday Weekend, although I do believe her birthday wasn’t actually this Monday just gone. Whatever – we got Monday off and R and I hired a house out on the East coast and invited a group of friends to join us for 3 nights. I had my god-sister and her fiance come over from the mainland for a mini-break, and there were an additional 5 people who stayed as well. Oh and a kitten :)  If you recall, I mentioned Waggles has been sick – she has had a nasty case of cat flu. The vet had her on medicine which she needed to have twice a day, and I was really worried about her, so I convinced R that she needed to come with us for the weekend. So we bought a cat carrier and packed her gear up and she joined us on the 2 hour drive to the coast. I should’ve thought to get a picture of her in the carrier. Its a small one - she will probably grow out of it eventually. But it fitted just nicely between two people on the back seat. And Waggles didn’t seem to mind much as she slept most of the way. Such a good little kitty!

The house we rented is in a prime position overlooking the bay and on the first morning I managed to be up at just the right time to catch the sunrise:

Lovely way to start the weekend, hey? What exactly were we doing up at sunrise you ask? Well its winter here, so sunrise was about 7am, and after driving the night before to get to the house in the early evening (some had driven about 4 hours after finishing work, and my godsister and her fiance had gotten up at 4:30am on the Friday to fly over from the mainland), most of us just had a quiet nightcap before bed, so it turned out to be a rather early night.

To be continued…
