Been ill… June 21, 2006

Ugh… I have had bad stomach and abdominal pain since Sunday evening. Yesterday (Mon) I was in a fair amount of pain all day and stayed at home. Feeling a lot better today, but still have some pain and now a headache. I have managed to come into work this arvo and put an assay on at least. I was planning on staying back late and doing histology, but I am not feeling up to it now. After talking to different people, I think I have caught a stomach bug or something. After a wedding reception I went to on Saturday there were a few people who came down sick on the Sunday, so it may be I got it there. Not food poisoning tho – I didn't get any symptoms until almost 24hours afterwards, and all i had was pain – no vomiting or other nasty stuff.
Hopefully I am back to 100% tomorrow. Once again I have fallen behind in the work I had planned. At least I took some time today to make a proper meal plan and go out and buy some protein shake powder. i always find I binge on carbs. If I boost my protein intake, even just one shake as a afternoon snake, helps me control the cravings.
I weighed myself this AM too. Down to 90.6kg but body fat is at 41.6%. I think its just a monthly fluctuation, if y'know what I mean. Anyway, I am reverting to what has worked in the past for me in terms of weight-loss. That is restricting calories to a realistic 2000 cals, and trying to keep my protein:carb:fat ratio at 40:40:20. As I lose the pounds i'll adjust the calorie intake. Doing this along with 3 resistance workouts a week in the past I have lost 5 kilos over a 12 week period. I would have lost more but i was scrimping on the cardio. So plan is to do the cardio at least 4 times a week, plus curves 3 times a week and stick to my eating plan and I should see some movement of these extra pounds I am carrying. Fingers crossed!!!
