My Cat Waggles

This page is just for pictures of my kitten Waggles. For the story on how we ended up with and adopted her see here and here.

8 WEEKS OLD

This are her first two pictures that I took on the night she was found and we took her in. The young woman holding her found her amongst the parked cars out the front of our university building.

After agreeing to take her in for the night I had her on my desk and used my digital camera to take a little video of her. This pic is a grab from the video.

A few days later we took her to the vet for a full check up and we were told she was about 6-8 weeks old. So I have christened the 17th April 2006 as her birthday.

9 WEEKS OLD

As well as her cute tuft of white chest fur, she aslo has a white band across her lower belly. The pic above was our attempt at getting a picture of it.

11 WEEKS OLD

Taking a nap in her favourite spot – mum’s lap while she is trying to work on the computer :)

Another prime spot for cat-napping:

3 MONTHS OLD

She had a very bad chest infection at this time – she is actually breathing through her mouth in this pic. And also making it very difficult to work at my laptop.

This one below was taken on our weekend away to a beach house. She had to come because she was still getting medicine twice a day for her cough. But she was well enough to explore the house, and was quite often found up in the loft.

Okay, this time I wasn’t trying to work at my laptop – I was trying to watch Canada’s Next Top Model on Youtube. Obviously she is a fan of Youtube too.

Her afternoon post is the window in the study. She gets to watch the sunset and see whats happening in our neighbours’ garden.

6 MONTHS OLD

I have changed the title of this page to reflect that fact that Waggles is more of a cat now than a kitten. She officially weighed in as an adult cat a few weeks ago (3.8kg). She is a real teenaged cat now – no more curling up in mum or dad’s laps for snoozing, not so keen on being carried around and cuddled. But still loves napping next to mum on the bed, has developed a taste for ham when dad is making sandwhiches, and loves having her back scratched. Oh and she has learnt not to attack her parents feet while they are trying to sleep in – I think she has been kicked off the end of the bed enough times to have learned that lesson :)
